BCF's Danista Hunte Will Lead Child First Authority
June 06, 2016
BCF congratulates Danista Hunte, VP of Community Investment, on being named the executive director of Child First Authority, an organization committed to closing the opportunity gap for children in Baltimore City by providing high quality after school and in-school programs.
Hunte will lead, manage and oversee all aspects of the organization, from strategy development and programming to community relations, fundraising and day-to-day administration.
“Danista has shared her gifts with BCF for sixteen years, and we hope that her time with us will inform her leadership at Child First,” said Tom Wilcox, BCF President & CEO. “We have been blessed by Danista’s deep and thoughtful commitment to BCF. We will miss her, but we are thrilled for her. She will continue to be a proven leader for Baltimore and Child First Authority.”
Kevin Griffin Moreno, currently BCF’s Senior Program Officer, will step in as Interim Director for Community Investment during the selection process for Hunte’s replacement.
In addition, Billie Marie Malcolm joined BCF June 8 as education program officer. Malcolm was most recently employed at Baltimore City Public Schools, where she worked closely with Michael Sarbanes, former executive director for partnerships, communications and community engagement, and Andres Alonso, former CEO, from 2008 to 2015.
“I have great confidence in Kevin’s ability to lead the Community Investment team forward for the next 6-9 months,” said Wilcox. “He will continue to collaborate with all of BCF’s board and staff to do all we can for the region we serve. And, we look forward to introducing Billie to the entire BCF family.”
