February 09, 2016
(Baltimore, 03/07/16) - The Baltimore Community Foundation has announced that Rosemary Calderalo, a veteran non-profit executive, is now its Director of Gift Planning. Calderalo will be responsible for helping donors discover how they can have the greatest impact in the areas they care most about. She will also be BCF’s primary contact for professional advisors where she will help them expand their roles as philanthropic resources for their clients.
Calderalo brings with her a broad range of experience in the non-profit sector, including in development. Most recently, she was chief development officer at Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake. Prior to moving to the Baltimore area, she led the fundraising and marketing efforts for The Salvation Army's state headquarters in New Jersey. For 13 years, she worked with the American Red Cross in executive leadership positions.
As a member of BCF’s development department, Calderalo will serve as the primary point of contact for professional advisers who help their clients plan their estates and direct charitable giving.
“One of BCF’s primary goals is to help donors plan and carry out their charitable goals,” said Tom Wilcox, BCF President & CEO. “Rosemary’s extensive background gives her the knowledge and experience to excel in this role, supporting donors and their advisors as they plan lifetime and legacy gifts.”
"It's a privilege to join the BCF team and support their vision of a thriving region with opportunity for all,” said Calderalo. “I'm looking forward to meeting all the professional advisors who look to BCF for help in addressing their clients' charitable interests, and to be challenged by those advisors to help make Baltimore a better place through planned giving.”
Calderalo holds a B.A. in writing arts from the State University of New York-Oswego, an M.S. in women's studies from Mankato State University, and holds a Ph.D. in adult education from Syracuse University.
