BCF Welcomes Hobbs and Loker Into Professional Advisor Recognition Society
October 14, 2015
The Baltimore Community Foundation (BCF) welcomed Chester H. Hobbs IV and Mary Loker into its Professional Advisor Recognition Society during a ceremony Wednesday evening.
Hobbs, an estate planning attorney with Bodie, Dolina, Hobbs, Friddell & Grenzer, and Loker, an attorney in private practice, were honored for their commitment to the Baltimore community by working to advance philanthropy and encourage charitable giving across Baltimore.
“Working with clients to prepare their estate plans is very rewarding, and it’s even better when I can provide them with the tools they need to meet their charitable goals,” said Hobbs. “It’s great to be honored for something you already love doing.”
Loker helped a client set up a fund at BCF and eventually became a donor herself and opened the Tom and Kaki Guidera Family Fund to honor her parents.
“As I got involved and learned more about it, it seemed like a no-brainer to do something like this,” said Loker. “BCF was a perfect choice."
Since 2011, BCF has honored advisors who have helped their clients engage with BCF to realize their charitable giving goals. Advisors play a key role in educating their clients about giving and thus have a positive impact on changing their communities.
"By adding philanthropy to the menu of planning topics they routinely discuss with clients, advisors have much power to influence change in Baltimore," noted BCF President and CEO Thomas E. Wilcox. "Both Mr. Hobbs and Ms. Loker have been instrumental in helping their clients realize their philanthropic and charitable goals through engagement at BCF. We’re grateful for their work and pleased to honor these advisors who promote philanthropy and are helping to build a better Baltimore now and into the future."
