Support BCF

Annual gifts to BCF's Civic Leadership Fund support BCF's leadership activities: convening partners from the public, private and nonprofit sectors to move important efforts forward, advocating on critical issues, and--when the time is right--incubating and hosting great new ideas for Baltimore. Our Civic Leadership Fund contributors believe in BCF's ability to fulfill this important role.

IN MEMORIAM: Suzanne F. Cohen

Many will join in celebrating the life of Suzanne F. Cohen over the days and weeks to come. Sue was an indomitable force in Baltimore philanthropy, a valued mentor to many, and a fierce advocate for the things she believed in most: art in its many forms, young people from infants to teens, and social justice as an inviolable principle.

Baltimore Community Foundation announces Invest for More

BCF announces Invest for More: making focused, carefully selected investments into companies, organizations, and funds with the intention of generating a measurable, beneficial social impact in our Baltimore region, as well as a financial return.

Shaping the future of Baltimore

BCF trustee and Baltimore attorney Stu Simms and his wife Candace have long supported BCF’s Civic Leadership Fund, which, he says, strives to make Baltimore a “competitive, first-class community.”

Creating a New Narrative

"People want to know how they can help. I’m not sure if there’s a better vehicle than BCF to get both a broad perspective of what’s happening in Baltimore and also an understanding of what is needed in direct services and direct action. BCF has a dual focus and a powerful impact," says author and BCF Civic Leadership donor Wes Moore.

Activating the Value of Service

Ober|Kaler has a strong culture of giving back. The firm supports BCF's Civic Leadership fund, because, they say, "BCF brings contributions together with skills and contacts that make everything we do more effective. When we make a contribution through BCF, it has greater impact."

Endow Maryland: A Donor's Perspective

Dr. Georgia Vogelsang's gift to BCF's Civic Leadership Endowment qualifies for a state Endow Maryland tax credit--an arrangement she calls "brilliant."

Building thriving communities

“For our company to thrive, our community has to thrive,” says Laura Gamble, PNC Bank regional president for Greater Maryland. “PNC supports many of the same initiatives that BCF does, particularly in terms of pre-school education and neighborhoods.
