The Police Foundation Fund was created to accept private donations to support the Baltimore Police Department's efforts to make Baltimore a safer place to live, work and visit. Current priorities for the Police Foundation Fund include:

• Training for police officers: Diamond Standard Training is a four week training program that emphasizes working with the community, overcoming barriers that have been established over time, and ensuring that the safety of the community is always at the forefront of every officer's mind.
• Capital improvements to the new training academy being developed at the site of the former Pimlico Middle School in Park Heights, including window repairs, air conditioning and construction of a ropes course.
• 911 Video Surveillance Enhancement – enabling camera operators to provide real-time information to officers responding to a 911 call.
• Officer Recognition, to improve morale and reward officers who exhibit exceptional leadership and community policing.
