Invest in Baltimore: Many Paths, One VisionBCF has always been in the business of building a better Baltimore through philanthropy. Now we’re making it easy for you to invest along with others who share your belief in Baltimore’s future. The one vision of Invest in Baltimore is this: Baltimore boasts a growing economy in which all have the opportunity to thrive. BCF has identified nine interrelated areas that must be addressed in order to make progress toward this goal. These are the paths, a set of interrelated, interdependent strategies that combine economic development with poverty reduction, addressing the region’s challenges while building on its strengths. On our own, none of us can travel very far on any of these paths toward our common goal. That’s why we are offering path funds, which work like philanthropic mutual funds, so that anyone at any level of giving can invest in Baltimore’s future. Gifts to path funds are pooled and added to endowment income set aside for each of the paths. Grants from the path funds go to carefully selected organizations, for purposes that match a very specific set of investment strategies developed over several years of research and planning.
