Thomas E. Wilcox
President and CEO
410-332-4172, ext. 101
twilcox@bcf.org

BCF staff since 2000

After twenty years as head of a New England boarding school, Tom relocated to Baltimore to lead BCF with characteristic high energy, big vision and bold bow ties. Today he’s a fully converted Orioles and Ravens fan and nonstop ambassador for BCF and Baltimore.

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:
"While all are important, Education is the key to a new Baltimore, and I am excited by the prospect of focusing our Education grantmaking, initiatives and advocacy on a few well-researched 'needle-moving' activities"

Jennifer Farrell   Jennifer Farrell
Executive Assistant to the President

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:
"Human Services: I believe that ensuring that everyone in our community’s basic human needs are met is an incredibly important part of a region’s success."

Cheryl A. Casciani
Director of Community Investment
Neighborhoods, Environment and Transportation Paths
410-332-4172, ext. 140
ccasciani@bcf.org

BCF staff since 1999

BCF’s not-so-secret weapon in the fight to make Baltimore better. Cheryl started her career as a petroleum engineer, and now she chairs Baltimore’s sustainability commission. A lot happened in between. Our favorite thing about Cheryl: her ability to bring together unlikely players, thanks to networks stretching across the business, nonprofit and public sectors, local and national philanthropies.

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:
"Environment: I love that the work of grantmaking, advocacy and leadership activities/initiatives are aligned in this path. Importantly, the outcomes of this work make visible improvements to quality of life issues in Baltimore."

Dion Cartwright   Dion Cartwright
Program Officer,
Neighborhood Grants Program
410-332-4172, ext. 144
dcartwright@bcf.org

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:
"Neighborhoods and Youth: Neighborhoods are the pulse of a city. Without the input of community residents, nothing done by the City can be successfully accomplished. Youth is also my favorite because I feel that young people are extremely important, and any grant used to support a program that supports youth gets my vote."
Danista E. I. Hunte
Danista E. I. Hunte
Senior Program Officer
Education and Youth Paths
410-332-4172, ext. 141
dhunte@bcf.org

BCF staff since 2000

When Danista speaks, people listen. She’s just that smart and well-prepared. Not to mention deeply committed to school reform and to young people in general.

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:
"Education, because we try to cover all the bases: K-12 education, adult literacy, and advocacy."

Kevin Griffin Moreno   Kevin Griffin Moreno

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:
"Arts and Culture: Even as Baltimore's 'anchor' arts institutions struggle in the face of declining revenues and audiences, BCF's Arts and Culture path has been able to support an increasingly vibrant and inclusive emerging arts scene.  The Baker Awards, the Confetti Grants, and our funding for organizations like the Creative Alliance and GBCA makes BCF's work in this area relevant, timely, and effective."

Amy Seto
Amy T. Seto, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
410-332-4172, ext. 112
aseto@bcf.org

BCF staff since 2004

We would say that Amy sweats the details . . . but she’s far too ladylike for that expression. So let’s just say that Amy brings meticulous accuracy and the proverbial iron hand in a velvet glove—not to mention some awesome suits from her native Hong Kong—to BCF’s finance department.

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:
"Environment: I like learning about recycling and how we can make our surroundings cleaner and greener."

Al Angarita
Al Angarita
Director of Technology
410-332-4172, ext. 190
aangarita@bcf.org

BCF staff since 2002

What free time? If he’s not browsing through virus updates or planning the techie angle of our next big initiative, Al’s fielding calls on his cell phone from tech-challenged BCFers, possibly while serving crossing-guard duty for his neighborhood school . . . pretty good preparation for the stampede of requests he deals with in the office on a daily basis.

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:
"Youth, because young people are the future of Baltimore."

Odessa Hampton   Odessa Hampton
Office Administrator
410-332-4172, ext. 100
ohampton@bcf.org

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:
"Neighborhoods: This path helps communities improve their blocks, homes, and alleyways. Neighborhood improvement projects offer immediate and noticeable results for residents, and Baltimore needs a steadier stream of resources for small, resident-driven projects that would not generally be on the radar to receive funding."
John Kirby   John Kirby

Anne Ross Knoeller   Anne Ross Knoeller

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:

"Transportation: We need to greatly improve public transportation, so we have a safe and reliable way to travel around the region.  A good system would promote Baltimore and help attract people and businesses to the area."
John N. Muchai

John N. Muchai, CPA
Controller
410-332-4172, ext. 113

BCF staff since 2002

With a 1,000-watt smile and friendly can-do response to every request, John turns every stereotype of accountants on its head. Plus he’s a long-distance runner and our very own Kenya connection. What’s not to like?

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:
"Human Services: It supports and provides for basic human needs, an area of particular importance in Baltimore, especially as it concerns the homeless and the hungry."

Laurie Baker Crosley
Laurie Baker Crosley
Director of Philanthropic Services
410-332-4172, ext. 170
lcrosley@bcf.org

BCF staff since 2001

Our go-to person for questions about giving, about funds and about our field—before joining BCF in 2001 Laurie ran a start-up community foundation in Georgia. A lifetime passion for sailing (especially sailing fast, in races) gives her the edge she needs to keep up with all of BCF’s 600+ funds while still delivering service with a personal touch to each and every donor.

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:
"Environment: It is the one area where everyone can make a difference.  And ultimately, it is the most important.  If we continue to destroy the earth, nothing else will matter."

Kathleen Elliott   Kathleen Elliott, CFRE
Philanthropic Services Officer

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:
"Education: A quality education is the basis for economic success and engagement in the community."

  Dorsey Gibbs
Outreach Coordinator
410-332-4172, ext. 133
dgibbs@bcf.org

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:
"Arts and Culture and the Environment: The arts are extremely important to me and to the livelihood of any city- we have created a new identity as a cultural destination, and I'd like to see that continue. I also think parks and green spaces are extremely important to the health and well-being of a city and its people- I would love to see Baltimore full of safe and shady parks."

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:

Trip Sullivan   Trip Sullivan
Communications Officer- Interactive Design
410-332-4172, ext. 181

"Environment: I don't think it's possible to spend too much time focusing on the environment. There's so much work that can be done to make the city more environmentally friendly, and there always will be. It's great that BCF is able to work with community groups big and small to make programs like Recycling More and the Baltimore Neighborhood Energy Challenge happen."
Gigi Casey Wirtz
Gigi Casey Wirtz
Director of Communications

Favorite path of Invest in Baltimore:
"Transportation: The way we travel impacts the environment.  Transportation infrastructure determines people's access to opportunities like jobs, education, healthy groceries, cultural amenities, and services.  Transportation infrastructure also shapes regional development patterns - if you care about sprawl, pay attention to transportation spending.  There is a strong connection between transportation and obesity, a huge health concern."
